About Your Wedding Photography Experience
How It All Works, From Booking to Delivery
-
Wedding photography is more than just showing up with a camera. You're investing in years of experience, professional grade equipment, meticulous editing, insurance and someone who knows how to handle any situation on your day. It also includes hours of post production to carefully curate and enhance your gallery so every image looks its absolute best. You're not just paying for photos, you're paying for peace of mind and timeless memories.
-
Every photographer’s packages are a little different, but mine typically include full day coverage from bridal prep to dancing, an online gallery with high-resolution edited images, a pre-wedding consultation and travel within a certain radius. Optional extras may include an engagement shoot, prints & albums. All the details are shared upfront so you know exactly what you’re getting.
-
Documentary wedding photography is a natural, story led approach that captures real moments as they happen, without awkward posing or staged shots. It focuses on genuine emotion, connection and the unscripted beauty of the day.
-
All the final photos in your gallery will be professionally edited to reflect my signature style. This includes colour correction, contrast, cropping and light retouching where needed. Editing ensures consistency throughout your gallery and enhances the emotional impact of each photo without making them look overly processed. The goal is always to enhance the image while keeping it authentic and true to the day.
-
It's best to book your photographer 12–18 months in advance, especially if you're getting married during peak season (May–September). Popular dates go quickly!
-
Look for someone whose style matches your vision and who makes you feel comfortable. Read reviews, browse full galleries (not just highlights) and make sure your personalities click, this matters more than you think!
-
Traditional photography is more posed and structured, focusing on key moments and formal portraits. Documentary photography is candid and observational, telling the full story of your day as it naturally unfolds.
-
Not at all! With a relaxed, documentary style, the focus is on real interactions. I’ll guide you gently when needed (like during couple portraits) but the rest is captured naturally as your day flows.
-
Rain doesn’t ruin your photos, it adds atmosphere! I come prepared for all weather, and we’ll find gorgeous indoor or covered spots. Plus, umbrellas and moody skies make for magical moments.
-
Most couples receive their full gallery within 4 weeks, but I always send a few sneak peeks within the first few days so you can relive the excitement while you wait.
-
Absolutely, and you should! Highlights are great but full galleries show how a photographer handles every part of the day, from prep to dance floor.
-
For most weddings, one experienced photographer is more than enough to capture the full story of your day and that’s exactly what I bring. From morning prep through to the evening celebrations, I work efficiently and intuitively to be in the right place at the right time, without needing a second shooter.
I don’t offer a second photographer as part of my packages simply because I’ve refined my approach over the years to work seamlessly solo. You’ll still receive a beautifully complete gallery filled with natural, artistic moments. Nothing missed and nothing staged.
-
For a full-day wedding, you’ll typically receive 500 beautifully edited images, depending on the flow of your day and the number of events.
-
A simple £250 deposit secures your date, with the remaining balance due around a month before the wedding. I’m always happy to chat through flexible options.
-
Yes, but with a relaxed documentary approach, I focus on capturing things organically. That said, I always work with you to understand any important moments, people or traditions you want captured.
-
Yes! Engagement sessions are a great way to get comfortable in front of the camera and they make for gorgeous save-the-date or wedding website content too.
-
Stick to outfits that feel like you, but avoid bold patterns or clashing colours. Neutral tones and soft fabrics work beautifully, especially during golden hour.
-
Definitely. I always suggest a Zoom call when you enquire and another closer to the day to finalise all the details. It’s important we connect and feel comfortable with each other!
-
Touch wood, this hasn’t happened yet! But I’m part of a strong network of trusted photographers and in an emergency I’d arrange for someone with a similar style to step in.
-
Yes. Every image you receive is individually edited in my signature style. I don’t batch-process or outsource, so you get consistency throughout.
-
Absolutely! I regularly cover weddings in Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and beyond. If you're planning something a little further afield, I'm in!
-
Definitely! Planning a wedding day timeline that flows well is a big part of ensuring a relaxed and well documented day. I’ll help you figure out how much time to allow for getting ready, couple portraits, group shots and golden hour light. All while ensuring there’s time to actually enjoy your day! With experience from dozens of weddings, I’ll guide you on what works best while staying flexible around your plans. Having a photographer who knows how to manage time without stress can make all the difference in your day running smoothly.
-
Indeed. I come fully prepared with professional grade cameras, lenses and lighting equipment; along with backups for everything. I shoot with dual card slots so your images are saved to two cards at once for extra security and I keep multiple back-ups of all digital files until your gallery is delivered safely. It’s part of the professional service I provide. Peace of mind knowing your wedding is being documented safely, no matter what happens.
-
I have full public liability and professional indemnity insurance, which protects both you and me in the unlikely event of an accident or issue. Many venues require this as a condition of working on site, and it's something every professional photographer should have. It's just one more reason to choose someone who’s established and experienced, so you can relax knowing the important things are covered.
-
You'll receive full personal usage rights to your final images, which means you can download, print and share them as much as you like for non-commercial purposes. A photographer typically retains the copyright of all images, which is standard in the UK. This means they may use a few select images for their portfolio, website or social media. If you have privacy concerns or want to keep everything under wraps, just let me know.
-
I specialise in documentary style photography with an artistic twist, which means I focus on real moments as they unfold naturally, while also capturing beautifully composed portraits and details. My goal is to tell the story of your day in a way that feels authentic, emotional and visually stunning. You'll get a mix of candid, emotional images with a few relaxed, gently guided portraits sprinkled in.
-
That really depends on the kind of day you’re planning. Most weddings benefit from at least 8, ideally 12 hours of coverage if you want me to tell the full story, from morning prep through to the dancing. If you’re having a shorter celebration or an elopement a smaller package might be more suitable. I’ll help you work out what’s right based on your schedule and what moments are most important to you.
-
It’s super easy! Head over to my contact page and send me the key details of your day - the date, venue and a little about your plans. I’ll check my availability and suggest a Zoom call so we can chat and see if we’re a good fit. If you’re happy to go ahead, I’ll send over a contract and invoice for the £250 booking fee. Once that’s signed and paid, your date is officially secured!
-
You’ll receive a curated selection of the very best images that tell the full story of your day - usually around 500 images, depending on your package. Photographers take thousands of images on a wedding day, but not every shot is a keeper (think duplicates, test shots, or blinking guests!). The final gallery includes everything meaningful, beautifully edited and consistent in quality. If there are specific moments you want captured, communicate those in advance. I will make sure nothing important is missed.
-
I only require a £250 deposit to secure your date. The remaining balance is due a month before your wedding. This gives you plenty of time to plan and spread the cost. You'll also receive reminders and a final consultation around this time so we can make sure everything’s perfectly in place.
-
Absolutely! I love capturing all kinds of weddings, big or small. If you're planning a shorter celebration, midweek wedding or elopement, I offer bespoke packages tailored to your needs and timeline. Just drop me a message through my contact form and I’ll happily build something around your plans.
-
Life happens, I get it. If you need to postpone, I’ll do everything I can to move with you, as long as your new date is available. If you cancel altogether, the booking fee is non-refundable as it secures your date and covers initial admin and planning. I’m always open to chatting through options if things shift unexpectedly.
-
Yes, I want this to feel manageable and stress-free! After the initial £250 booking fee, I’m happy to split the remaining balance into smaller instalments if that helps you budget more easily. Just let me know what works best for you and we’ll set up a plan.
-
Travel within Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire and Cambridgeshire is included in all packages. If you're planning a wedding further afield, I’ll simply add any extra mileage or accommodation needed - always discussed up front with no surprise fees. I’m more than happy to travel wherever your wedding takes me.
-
Most couples book full-day coverage, which usually means around 12 hours - from bridal prep through to dancing. This ensures your whole story is captured beautifully. If you’re planning a shorter day or need extended coverage, I offer flexible options to suit your plans.
-
You’ll receive high-resolution, fully edited images with printing rights included, so you're free to print and share your photos however you like. You can also order professional quality prints and fine art albums directly from your gallery if you'd like to receive the best quality from the UK’s finest printers - look out for my special offers when you get your gallery!
-
Yes! Once your final gallery is delivered you’ll have the option to order a self-designed fine art album using all your favourite images, directly from the gallery. It’s super easy and fully customisable. Prices start from £500 for a 20-page linen-bound album available in 14 colourways or from £590 for a real leather version in 5 classic colours. Each one is printed on fine art matte paper, known for its exceptional durability and fingerprint-resistant finish. Delivered within 3 weeks, these albums are the perfect way to bring your images off the screen and into your hands, a keepsake to treasure for generations.

I focus exclusively on creating beautiful, natural wedding photography, capturing all the genuine moments in still images. While I don’t offer video services myself, I’m happy to recommend talented videographers I’ve worked with, ensuring your day is covered perfectly in both photos and film.
