With lockdown measures easing, it is such fantastic news that socially distant engagement shoots are now back on the cards. There is nothing wedding photographers like more than to be out shooting newly engaged couples. Especially now the summer is in full swing, and the lovely July weather is upon us. This was undoubtedly such exciting news for Megan and Dean. A fun, young couple from Kent who are planning to get married at Cooling Castle near Rochester later next year. We met up at Ranscome Farm nature reserve in Kent, late in the afternoon. An idyllic spot full of potential, with an abundance of bluebells, primroses and orchids. With a cloudless sky, the sun was beginning its descent into a beautiful dreamy golden glow. The perfect backdrop we had been hoping for. Working with this young couple was a dream. We had such fun trying out a variety of poses. It is always so satisfying to challenge couples, pushing
the boundaries, helping them to create superb images that they'll cherish for a lifetime. Working with the light and capturing the love and emotion this couple have for each other was so rewarding. It's what makes my job so worthwhile, and it felt unbelievably good to be back doing what I love. For our second shoot location, we headed over to the village of Bean. We had spotted a lovely field full of colourful red poppies a few days earlier and hoped we'd still be fortunate to catch them in full bloom. We were in luck, plus the sun was still on our side, allowing us to capture many more stunning golden hour images. The couple were so thrilled with the final photos, and are now excitedly putting the final finishing touches to their future wedding plans.
