Ligne Roset Asmara seating installation at the French Institute, South Kensington, London
To continue the French Institute’s ongoing relationship with leading European furniture design brand Ligne Roset, the iconic Asmara seating range by Bernard Govin was installed within the building’s striking Art Deco entrance.
Originally designed in 1968, Asmara represented a radical shift in how living spaces could be used. “A new way of living!” proclaimed American Vogue at the time. For many years, however, the collection could only be seen within the archives of the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris until now.
I was commissioned to photograph the installation for its UK launch, capturing both the entrance space and the first-floor library, where the seating range sits effortlessly within the architectural setting.
