Showcasing the Ligne Roset Asmara Collection at the French Institute, London

Interior Photography for Design and Furniture Brands

The opportunity to photograph design-led interiors is always a rewarding one, particularly when working with internationally recognised furniture brands in unique architectural settings. This project involved documenting Ligne Roset's iconic Asmara seating collection, installed within the French Institute in South Kensington, London.

Designed to complement the contemporary character of the space, the installation created a striking visual contrast between modern furniture design and the cultural setting of one of London's most respected French institutions. The aim of the photography was to capture both the sculptural qualities of the furniture and the atmosphere of the environment in which it was displayed.

Originally designed in 1968, Asmara represented a radical shift in how living spaces could be used. “A new way of living!” proclaimed American Vogue at the time. For many years, however, the collection could only be seen within the archives of the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris until now.

I was commissioned to photograph the installation for its UK launch, capturing both the entrance space and the first-floor library, where the seating range sits effortlessly within the architectural setting.
