Summer Engagement Shoot Kent
Summer Engagement Shoot, Ranscombe Farm Nature Reserve, Rochester, Kent - Megan & Dean
You can’t beat golden hour - that beautiful hour before sunset - perfect for a summer engagement shoot! Here’s my top 5 tips:
1. Pick the Perfect Time of Day
Summer light can be harsh in the middle of the day. Aim for early morning or golden hour (late afternoon/evening) for soft, flattering light that makes your photos glow.
2. Choose a Meaningful Location
Whether it’s a favourite park, the beach, or a spot that’s special to your relationship, selecting a location that tells your story adds authenticity and personality to your images.
3. Dress Comfortably but Stylishly
Coordinate your outfits so you feel confident and comfortable. Light, breathable fabrics work best in summer, and don’t forget shoes you can walk in, comfort makes for relaxed, natural photos.
4. Keep It Natural and Fun
Engagement shoots are all about capturing your real connection. Laugh, walk, dance, or simply hold hands, candid moments always translate beautifully on camera.
5. Plan for the Weather
Summer can be unpredictable. Bring water, sunscreen, and perhaps a backup location or a light umbrella. Being prepared helps you stay relaxed and enjoy the shoot no matter what.
